The Registry is located in Adams.  The Registry is linked by computer with the Middle and Southern Berkshire Registries.  One may search the indices in all three Berkshire Registries from any office.

Berkshire County has three Registries.  Berkshire Northern District is located in Adams, MA and records for the city of North Adams and the towns of Adams, Cheshire, Clarksburg, Florida, Hancock, Lanesborough, New Ashford, Savoy, Williamstown and Windsor.

Berkshire Middle District is located in Pittsfield MA and records for the city of Pittsfield and the towns of Becket, Dalton, Hinsdale, Lee, Lenox, Otis, Peru, Richmond, Stockbridge, Tyringham and Washington.

Berkshire Southern District is located in Great Barrington, MA and records for the towns of Alford, Egremont, Great Barrington, Monterey, Mount Washington, New Marlborough, Sandisfield, Sheffield and West Stockbridge.

All offices are open Monday - Friday 8:30 to 4:30.  The hours of recording are Monday - Friday 8:30 to 4:00.

Directions:

From Eastern Massachusetts: If you are coming from the eastern part of Massachusetts follow I-90 across the State taking the Lee exit (#2) off the Massachusetts turnpike.  Continue north on Route 7 then Route 8 from Pittsfield north.  Staying on Route 8 will bring you into the town of Adams at an intersection with a post office, Big Y supermarket and McDonalds.  At this intersection bear left onto Park Street.  The Registry is located approximately 1/4 mile down Park Street on your right hand side in a brick building which once housed the Town Hall.

From Springfield/Holyoke Area: Follow I-91 to Northampton.  Once in Northampton follow Route 9 to Route 8A.  Then bear left onto Route 116 and follow that route into the Town of Adams where the points of interest are as above.

From Greenfield Area: Follow Route 2 West over the Mohawk Trail.  Then follow Route 8 south onto Park Street.  A statue of President McKinley appears in the center of Park Street.  The Registry will be found approximately 1/8 of mile on your left.
